Valencia CF and its historic debut at Mexico City's Estadio Azteca
The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicked off last night at the iconic Mexican venue, where Valencia CF took part in the stadium’s inaugural tournament in 1966
Valencia CF received a visit from Juanma Garrido — current coach and Valencian national team manager — Víctor Bueno — assistant coach, former professional player, and with 15 years of experience with the national team — and Victoria Díez — captain of the Valencian national team — during the team’s victory over Girona FC at the Mestalla.
The Valencian National Team delegation (both women’s and men’s) won seven medals across the different disciplines played (llargues, manito, international game, and one wall) at the World Championship held in Argentina: one gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.
The Club’s General Director — Javier Solís — and Valencia CF legends and club ambassadors — Miguel Tendillo and Miguel Ángel Bossio — welcomed the athletes and presented them with a personalized jersey bearing the Federation’s name.
